Diarts has Add-on Serial PCIe card with 2 in 1 RS485 RS422 2KV Isolation 600W Surge supports Standard and Low Profile Bracket. Card comes with cable DB25 Male to 2 DB9 Male cable. That is why we can design with Low Profile Bracket.
2 port RS422 RS485 PCIe card – supports High Speed 921.6Kbps Transfer Rate and baud rate. 2KV Isolation protection, We use 3KV Isolation component with our hardware designs. 600S surge Adapter, Option parts Depend on you system need. Why Serial 2 in 1 RS422 RS485
Serial interface supports some different modes such as RS232, RS232C, RS422, RS485, but RS422 and RS485 are more closed. That is why it has 2 in 1 mode RS422 and RS485 at same Card. Because it is easy to have RS422 with RS485 or 4 wire RS485, too.
1 – RS422 mode
RS422 it has two modes one is Point to Point ( PtP ), and Multi-Drop.
2 – Point to Point mode ( PtP )
Mode supports Host links to Device, one by one. It is alike RS232 mode.
3 – Multi-Drop ( 4 Wire RS485 )
This mode Multi-Drop, also call 4 wire RS485, too. It is TD+, TD-, RD+, and RD-. Host TD+ to Device RD+, Host TD- to Device RD-. And one Host can connect few Devices. That is RS422 Multi-Drop
4 – RS485 mode
How about RS485, it is 2 wire and multi-drop. Host D+ links to Device D+, and Host D- links to Device D-. One host can link from one up to 128 devices, it will depend on each product design. Our design is standard type up to 32 devices.The Card supports 2 in 1 functions also it with 4 wire RS485 mode too. Users can select jumper to set up each port mode. And different port you can set up different mode, too.
Standard Bracket and Low Profile Bracket
Design 2 in 1 Serial Card supports both Standard and Low Profile Bracket. Why it has two type brackets. The PC case has few kinds. But for Standard and Low profile are most use with.
A – Standard Bracket
It is most designs with Standard Bracket. As we know Graphic Card, VGA, HDMI, USB 3.2 USB 4.0, Thunderbolt 4.0, ….. supports with Standard Bracket.
B – Low Profile Bracket
For desktop PC case. That is why it is small them standard PC case. When designs with Low Profile bracket, it needs to choice the connector. That is why not all items supports with Low Profile bracket.
2 in 1 RS422 RS485 supports Optical Isolation, Surge and ESD protection
The Serial interface use with different control system, some of have long distances. That is why it needs protection for Host side( PC computer ). Of Couse, short distance also needs protection, too.
Optical Isolation protection
Isolation, we call optical Isolation. The signal from the device into PC, it will change to light with signal. Those can protection PC from outside. It is very important to have this function to protect your Host. For Isolation protection it has some different level, we use 2.5KV or 3KV it is good for industrial level and 5KV Isolation is medical level to use.
4KV Surge, 600W Surge
Surge, it is also add function for Serial RS232 RS422 RS485 products. Most products Serial do not add this function. It is good to have. It is same as Isolation function. But add those function the cost will be higher. It has different levels 600W Surge or 4KV Surge. Both specs are we have now.
Air 15KV, Contact 8KV ESD protection
ESD protection comes with chipset. It should have 15KV by Air or 8KV by contact protection. When hit by ESD over 15KV or 8KV the chipset will be gone. But if under 15KV or 8KV, it has 3 types will be happen.
- 1 – Nothing happen, and signal is good
- 2 – it has wave show up but PC is good
- 3 – it needs to re-start PC
- 3 types are good with CE testing.
Industrial Level Design – 2 in 1 RS422 RS485 PCIe Card
We have design with Industrial Level spec, In the marketing the industrial item is for working temperature. Other company item working temperature only from 0 – 60, but Industrial Level is must be -30 to 75. That is different.
Interface Card – PCIe PCI Express
PCIe is newest interface for addon card. It is from ISA 8bit, ISA 16bit, PCI, and PCIe. All interface supports PC computer to add different mode such as USB, VGA, HDMI, Sound Card, 1394, PS II, Serial RS232 RS422 RS485, …. It needs to have slot to add-on Card, that slot interface is ISA, PCI, and PCIe. The PCIe is newest interface
